The Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and Transfer to Sonamarag Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your hotel. If possible, we will proceed to Sonamarag for an overnight stay, where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Day 2
Srinagar/Sonamarag - Kargil via Sonamarag - Zojila Pass - Drass Today, we will travel from Srinagar/Sonamarag to Kargil via Sonamarag, Zojila Pass, and the War Memorial Museum in Drass. Upon arrival in Kargil, we will transfer to our hotel and take an evening excursion to Hundeman, where you can see a Pakistani army post just 2 kilometres away.
Day 3
Kargil - Suru Valley - Rangdu - Sankoo - Kartse Chamba (Maitreya Buddha) - Nun and Kun After breakfast, we will proceed towards Suru Valley, which starts just after Kargil. After 45 kilometres, we will reach Sankoo, the main town of Suru Valley. Here, we will take a diversion to reach Kartse Chamba (Maitreya Buddha), which dates back to the 7th century. Along the way, we will see many snow-clad mountains, including the main peaks of Nun and Kun which dominate the valley.
Day 4
Rangdum - Penzila Pass - Drang Drung Glacier - Padum - Isolated Monastery called Zungkhul Today, we will travel from Rangdum to Padum. After 26 kilometres from Rangdum, we will reach Penzila Pass (4401 metres), the highest point between Kargil and Zanskar. Here, you can see Drang Drung Glacier, the biggest glacier in Ladakh after Siachen. Before reaching Padum, we will also visit an isolated monastery called Zungkhul, located in a tranquil valley.
Day 5
Sightseeing in Zanskar Today is dedicated to sightseeing in Zanskar. We will visit Karsha Monastery, the largest monastery in Zanskar; Stakrimo Monastery; and Pipiting Monastery. Overnight stay in Padum.
Day 6
Free Day in Zanskar Enjoy a free day in Zanskar for individual activities.
Day 7
Stongdey Monastery - Tsazar or Zangla Today, we will visit Stongdey Monastery and Zangla Palace, where famous Hungarian scholar Coma de Cros spent one year in the beginning of the 1830s to study Tibetan. Overnight stay in Tsazar or Zangla.
Day 8
Tsazar or Zangla - Lamayouru via Lingshed, Singeyla Pass - Sirsir La - Lamayouru We will travel from Tsazar or Zangla to Lamayouru via Lingshed, Singeyla Pass, Sirsir La, and Lamayouru. Overnight stay in Lamayouru.
Day 9
Lamayouru - Leh - Basgo Palace, Sangam - Pathar Sahib Today, we will travel from Lamayouru to Leh. Along the way, we will visit Alchi Monastery; Basgo Palace; Sangam where Indus and Zanskar meet; Magnetic Hill; and Pathar Sahib.
Day 10
Shey Palace - Thiksay Monastery - Hemis Monastery We will visit Shey Palace; Thiksay Monastery which resembles Potala Palace in Lhasa Tibet; Hemis Monastery; and Stok Palace which is the royal family’s residence.
Day 11
Free Day in Leh Enjoy a free day in Leh for shopping and individual activities.
Day 12
Leh - Khardunga La - Disket Monastery - Hunder Sand Dunes We will travel from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La. Here, we will visit Disket Monastery and Hunder Sand Dunes.
Day 13
 Shayok River - Turtuk - Disket Today, we will visit Turtuk Village on the bank of Shayok River. This village was part of Pakistan until 1971 but is now under Indian control. We will return to Disket for an overnight stay.
Day 14
Disket/Hunder - Shayok - Pangong Lake We will travel from Disket/Hunder to Pangong Lake via Shayok. Overnight stay in Man Village on the bank of the lake.
